Privacy, minus the fine-print fog.

Our approach is refreshingly simple: this is a static magazine, not a data-collection machine. Here is what happens when you browse, dismiss a cookie notice, or write to our editors.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising pixels, social media trackers, or behavioral profiling. Your flavor-matcher selections stay in your browser and are not sent to us.

01 · Overview

The short version

This Privacy and Cookie Notice explains how Prism & Peel Editorial Studio handles information in connection with this static confectionery magazine. It applies to the home page, editorial features, interactive guides, and policy pages published as part of this site.

You can read every article and use both interactive widgets without creating an account, providing a name, or entering personal information. The site has no registration system, comment form, checkout, newsletter form, or payment process.

Only two ordinary activities can involve information: your browser may store your cookie-notice preference, and you may choose to email us. Standard technical processing by the hosting infrastructure is described below.

02 · Browser storage

One small local-storage entry

When you select “Sweet, got it” on the cookie notice, our script asks your browser to save a preference using local storage. This lets the notice stay dismissed on later visits.

  • Storage key: prismPeelCookieConsent
  • Stored value: accepted
  • Purpose: remembers only that you acknowledged the notice
  • Duration: remains until you clear site data or your browser removes it

The entry does not contain your name, email address, location, flavor selections, or a marketing identifier. It is not used to follow you across other websites. If browser storage is blocked or unavailable, the notice can still be dismissed for the current view.

What about the interactive widgets?

The Flavor Profile Matcher and Temperature → Texture guide run entirely in your browser. We do not save, transmit, or associate your selections with you.

03 · Technical delivery

Information & hosting

We do not operate an analytics dashboard or intentionally collect browsing histories. Like most websites, however, the infrastructure that delivers these static files may process limited technical information when your browser requests a page.

That information can include an Internet Protocol address, requested file, date and time, browser or device type, referring page, and security or error events. Such server logs are generally used to deliver content, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and maintain security. Retention and access depend on the hosting environment and operational necessity.

We do not combine ordinary server-log information with flavor choices or use it to build advertising profiles. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

04 · Your inbox, your choice

Email correspondence

If you choose an editorial email link, your own mail application opens. Sending a message is optional. Your email provider and ours will process the message and the information needed to deliver it.

We receive the sender address and whatever you decide to include, such as a name, story pitch, correction, maker details, or other correspondence. We use that information only to review and respond to the message, evaluate editorial ideas, verify corrections, maintain records where needed, and protect the studio from misuse.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information. Editorial correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, follow-up, legal obligations, or an accurate corrections record. We do not add unsolicited senders to marketing lists.

05 · A self-contained visit

Outside services & embedded content

The published pages do not load third-party fonts, scripts, images, video players, maps, social widgets, or advertising networks. Article and policy links are local to this site, and email links use the mailto format.

No payment processor, customer account provider, or e-commerce platform is connected because the magazine does not sell products. External services become involved only if you independently choose to send email through your own provider.

Children’s privacy

This general-audience editorial site is not designed to collect children’s personal information. We do not knowingly request such information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information may contact the studio to request review and deletion, subject to applicable recordkeeping requirements.

06 · Your controls

Your privacy choices

You can clear the saved cookie-notice preference at any time by deleting this site’s data in your browser settings. The notice may then appear again. Blocking local storage will not prevent you from reading the magazine or using its widgets.

You may also choose not to email us. If you have corresponded with the studio, you may write to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information in that correspondence, subject to applicable law and legitimate editorial or legal records.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We will review verifiable requests consistent with applicable requirements. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request.

Notice updates

If our publishing practices change, we will revise this page and update the date above. Material changes will be described in plain language. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised notice.
